Ingredients
Method
- In a large bowl, gently combine the ground turkey, onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions and roll each into a loose ball.
- Preheat a heavy-bottomed skillet over high heat for 5-7 minutes.
- Add 1 tablespoon of oil to the hot pan and place 2-3 turkey balls onto it.
- Cover each ball with parchment paper and smash down with a spatula for 10-15 seconds.
- Cook undisturbed for 2-3 minutes until golden brown, then flip and add cheese.
- Cook for another 1-2 minutes until cheese is melted and turkey is cooked through.
- Toast the burger buns cut-side down in the same skillet for 30-60 seconds.
- Assemble the burgers with patties and desired toppings.
Notes
Ensure the pan is very hot for the best sear. Use 85-90% lean turkey for juicy burgers.
