Ingredients

  • 2 (29-ounce) cans canned sliced peaches in heavy syrup, do not drai
  • 1 (15.25-ounce) box yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, cold or melted
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grab a 9x13-inch baking dish and pour both cans of peaches directly into the dish, including all the syrup. Spread them into an even layer and sprinkle cinnamon over the peaches.
  3. Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the peaches without stirring.
  4. Slice the cold butter into thin pats and distribute them evenly across the top of the dry cake mix, or melt the butter and drizzle it over the surface.
  5. Bake for 50-60 minutes until the top is golden brown and the peach filling is bubbling.
  6. Remove from the oven and let it cool for at least 10-15 minutes before serving.

Notes

Don't drain the peaches; the syrup is essential for moisture. Distribute butter evenly for best texture. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
