Ingredients

  • 1.5 - 2 pounds pork tenderloi
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 4-5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, or to taste
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
  • Green onions for garnish, sliced (optional)

Method

  1. Pat the pork tenderloin dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and black pepper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, rice vinegar, and sesame oil.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large, oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the pork tenderloins for 2-3 minutes per side until browned.
  4. Pour half of the honey garlic sauce over the seared pork and transfer the skillet to a preheated oven. Bake for 15-20 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 140-145°F.
  5. Remove from the oven and let the pork rest for 5-10 minutes, tented with foil.
  6. While resting, thicken the remaining sauce by whisking cornstarch and water into the pan juices over medium heat until desired consistency.
  7. Slice the pork into thick medallions, drizzle with the thickened sauce, and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.

Notes

Ensure to use a meat thermometer to avoid overcooking the pork. Fresh ingredients enhance the flavor of the dish.
