Ingredients

  • 1 9-inch Pie Crust
  • 1.5 cups Cooked Ham, diced
  • 1.5 cups Swiss Cheese, shredded
  • 4 Large Eggs
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • 1/2 cup Whole Milk
  • 3-4 Green Onions, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 pinch Nutmeg

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare the pie crust in a 9-inch pie plate.
  2. Blind bake the crust for 10 minutes with weights, then remove weights and bake for another 5 minutes.
  3. Layer diced ham and shredded Swiss cheese in the crust, then sprinkle with chopped green onions.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, heavy cream, whole milk, salt, pepper, and nutmeg until smooth.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the ham and cheese in the crust. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes.
  6. Check for doneness with the jiggle test; the edges should be set with a slight jiggle in the center.
  7. Let the quiche rest for at least 15 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Ensure to use room temperature eggs for better incorporation. Shred your own cheese for a smoother texture.
