Ingredients
Method
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
- Combine the uncooked rice, French onion soup, beef broth, melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder in your prepared baking dish. Stir everything together thoroughly.
- Season your French onion rice casserole with salt and pepper to taste.
- Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes. Check at the 45-minute mark by carefully lifting the foil and testing a grain of rice.
- If adding cheese, remove the foil during the last 10 minutes of baking. Sprinkle the cheese over the top and return to the oven uncovered.
- Remove from the oven and let the casserole rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
Use real butter for richness. Ensure the foil seal is tight to trap steam. Let the casserole rest after baking for best results.
