  • 1 package (36 oz) chocolate sandwich cookies
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 packages (3.9 oz each) instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 3 cups cold milk
  • 16 oz container whipped topping
  • Easter candy decorations as desired

Method
 

  1. Crush the chocolate sandwich cookies into fine crumbs and set aside 1 cup for the top layer.
  2. Press the remaining cookie crumbs into the bottom of a 9x13-inch casserole dish.
  3. Beat cream cheese and butter together until smooth, then gradually add powdered sugar and mix until creamy.
  4. Whisk together pudding mix and cold milk for exactly two minutes, then let it set for five minutes before spreading over the cream cheese layer.
  5. Spread the whipped topping over the pudding layer and sprinkle reserved cookie crumbs on top.
  6. Arrange Easter candies on top for decoration.
  7. Refrigerate for at least four hours or overnight before serving.
