Method
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Pour the melted butter into a 9x13-inch baking dish, coating the bottom evenly.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, milk, baking powder, vanilla extract, and salt. Whisk until smooth.
- Pour the batter over the melted butter in the baking dish without stirring.
- Evenly distribute your chosen fruit over the top of the batter.
- If desired, sprinkle cinnamon or extra sugar over the fruit.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool for at least 15 minutes before serving.
Notes
The cake can be made ahead of time and stored at room temperature for up to two days or refrigerated for up to five days. It can also be frozen for up to three months.
