Ingredients
  

  • 4 large English cucumbers
  • 2 tablespoons kosher salt
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 3 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 medium red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Method
 

  1. Wash and dry the cucumbers thoroughly. Cut cucumbers into 1/8-inch thick rounds.
  2. Place sliced cucumbers in a colander and toss with kosher salt. Let stand for 30 minutes.
  3. Whisk together sour cream, mayonnaise, white wine vinegar, sugar, garlic powder, and black pepper in a bowl. Add fresh dill and mix until smooth.
  4. Rinse cucumbers under cold water to remove excess salt. Pat dry.
  5. Add dried cucumbers and red onion to the dressing. Toss gently and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
