Ingredients

  • 2 sheets puff pastry (thawed)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Unfold the thawed puff pastry sheets onto a lightly floured surface and roll each sheet to about ¼-inch thick.
  3. Brush melted butter generously over both pastry sheets.
  4. Combine Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper in a small bowl and mix thoroughly.
  5. Sprinkle half the cheese mixture over one pastry sheet and press gently. Place the second pastry sheet on top, buttered side up, and sprinkle the remaining cheese mixture over the top.
  6. Slice the layered pastry into strips about ½-inch wide.
  7. Twist each strip 3-4 times to create a spiral shape and place them on the prepared baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown and puffed. Rotate pans halfway through.
  9. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Ensure puff pastry is cold and properly thawed. Use freshly grated cheese for best flavor. Serve with dipping sauces like marinara or ranch.
